Mr. Underhill has over twenty years of experience appraising properties, including single and multi-family residential dwellings, commercial properties, government-owned land, and numerous road projects valued at over $1,000,000. His assignments have included excess land, tidelands for government agencies, retail, mixed-use, and FHA appraisals. Mr. Underhill has been testifying on his reports as a court witness, along with various commercial assignments and estate appraisals. He lives in the Whiting, NJ (Manchester Township) and is familiar with 55-plus communities.
As of July 2023, Mr. Underhill left his position at NJDOT, where is worked since 2004, writing condemnation appraisals, reviewing appraisals, providing sales data to staff personnel, and determining the value of property rights relating to easements. He has also appraised excess land of former NJDOT projects for sale to the public. Most of this work involved an in-depth analysis of sales comparables to determine fair market value. In November 2023, he took the Appraisal Institutes class on Conservation Easements.
He bikes-hikes the Pine Barrens in his free time since he lives in a Wildlife Management Area, including taking nature photos. He bikes on both roads and trails, enjoying time at the beach.
